We went to a birthday party with fall festivities at a local park last night. I managed to get a photo with all the kids looking in the same direction! Not at me… But still. It counts.
We’re all well, just trying to keep our heads up above water. Blaine has a business trip later this week, I pulled out winter coats and created extra laundry, and despite having the house quite clean multiple times this week, guess what we get to do tomorrow? Attempt to find the living room and laundry room floors. My word, things get wrecked in a hurry. It’s not as bad as it sounds, but almost. Trying to organize coat hooks is a major undertaking. I’ve discovered that each child having a good coat and a play coat saves much angst on hectic mornings when we’re trying to leave the house and a dear child failed to mention they fell in the mud… on purpose… multiple times. It creates 14 kids coats to find a home for, however. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
I think we’re eliminating hats and gloves this year and praying for warm weather. I cannot bring myself to even start rounding those up… Wouldn’t that be lovely?!

I can see how it would make you tired to think about 14 coats,. Add 7 hats, and 14 gloves to that. YIKES!! Ha!!
Love the new pic of the kiddos.

Cute picture and my, Ellie is getting big! When that happens to our smallest (so far) I’m always comforted knowing there is a new baby on the way! Seems that’s too true for y’all as well! 🙂 Know what you mean about messes happening fast. Yes, lots of coats can be…..a lot! But if they make it to the hooks I’m (very) happy! We throw all hats and gloves in a big drawer. Our problem here is boots! They seem to fall apart way too fast and somehow there’s always a jumbled pile of them on the porch!

Funny, I was just saying to Blaine how big Ellie is getting and that I didn’t think I’d be sad even if we weren’t looking forward to another. He laughed and said I definitely would be sad. Yeah… I do that too.
Boots line my laundry room -or trip me up when there’s nothing line about them. I lack storage in this house, so the laundry room also houses a tote of mittens and hats in colder weather. Winter definitely makes things harder.

Your top 6 children are the same age as my 6 children, pretty much! I think I’ve visited before, but glad to poke around a bit. I hear you on winter gear…I’m trying to wade through our bins of stuff. Yikes! My SIL sews all her little kids hands and mittens to their coats…I’m thinking I might do the same…desperate times call for desperate measures. 😉 Congrats on the new little one coming SOON! 🙂
