Snow. Ice. Happy children.

December 12, 2021 by Adrienne

We got a bit of snow Friday, and the kids are thrilled with the new potential for fun. The ice in the fields is frozen, though the kids have strict instructions to stay away from the deeper sloughs for now. Liberty took some photos yesterday. Kids are worn out, bottoms are sore from hitting the ice too many times, but kids are so, so excited to head out there.

Stellan asked as we were leaving for church this morning if we could just drop them off at the field by the house on the way home after church. He planned to skip lunch in favor of skating again. Today’s trip to the ice included a broken pair of glasses and a very bruised cheek for Ruby. They’ve played hard.

I’m so glad they’re enjoying it. I loved to skate when I was younger. I haven’t ventured to try after my surgeries, but soon. The kids have missed friends and places from Missouri. It’s good they’ve found something to enjoy.
