Two dear girls got new glasses last week. Miss Elliot got her first pair – not a shock since getting her to focus on a page is sheer torture for both of us. I’m remain unconvinced that this will solve all the squirrelly, but it’s a good first step. (The other, is suspect, is age. And personality. Age I can wait for. But I can do little about personality. So we’ll start with glasses.) I rather love them. They had a purple pair that she liked better but they were a good bit too big. So, I got my wish after all.
Eden got her… twentieth pair? Quite likely that isn’t an exaggeration. She’s worn glasses since she was two. She was not an easy two tear old to have in glasses. She’s far kinder to them now. I like this pair a lot. Enough that I order a similar pair for myself. I’m not sure I can pull of her little style of cute, but I can copycat her a little. She said I could!
I love when it’s time to get them new glasses. It’s like… jewelry! Elliot was so excited to get hers she asked me why on earth the speed limit on the way into town is slow. She’s never commented on my driving or speed before. Now, she likes them less because I don’t let her take them off. Uh, no. Glasses rarely break on the face. But take them off and it all breaks loose. I’ve replaced enough pairs to know this!

Elliot is adorable in glasses!
As a kid I wanted them because of my grandma. She wore these thick thick ones which I found incredibly charming. I need glasses for reading, now, and I’m not that enchanted by them. Maybe I just need to find purple ones?
