I walked into the bathroom last week and found a chunk of platinum blonde hair on the floor. There’s only a few kids with hair that color – and with enough length.
Elliot. Nooooooo.
I investigated. No chunks missing. She swore she didn’t do it.
Charlotte. The moment I saw her, I saw the missing chunk. Good grief, she’s SIX! Seriously? Seriously. The girl wanted bangs. She’d pretended to cut some. Except it didn’t just happen in pretend.
After cutting four inches off the back in an attempt to fix her trimmings, I gave her a bit of sideswept bangs. She’s so proud. And she promises. Never again.
Stellan decided he likes the bigger binkies. I have mixed feelings about this.
Elmer the Boxer was visiting yesterday… Kinda like he does every day. Elliot is extremely intimidated by him and watched him warily as he sniffed at Stellan. “He’s going to eat Stellan!” she cried. I told her that Elmer doesn’t eat little boys. She looked at me wide eyed. “He only eats little GIRLS?!” I assured her he eats neither and she promptly “pinched Elmer’s wrinkles” and began showing me how Elmer looks at her every time she pulls on his collar. Obviously her intimidation only goes so far.
My Hoover Hard Floor Cleaner is amazing. For the record. My floors have never been so clean. The original grout color is coming back. Best part: the kids all want to try it. If you must, dear children. Go ahead and mop the floor. If you must.
I sneeze silently, almost always. A few of my kids do too, but I always thought it was just them copying me. Tonight, Stellan sneezed five times… silently. Is manner of sneezing an inherited trait?! How weird is that???
When Elliot doesn’t take a nap, bedtime needs to happen early. Or else!

Oh no!! Never a dull moment for you. Right?? Funny!!!

Silent Sneezing– Yes, hereditary! We learned about a lot of things like that in preparing for adoption– the things our kids will have in common with their birth parents and potentially not with us. Sneezing, yawning, how you hold things, which foot you step with first, which leg you bounce when you are bored– hereditary! Crazy!

I agree Kristin, it is hereditary. Adrienne’s dad is a silent sneezer – or tries to be – ha
