Elliot, I have decided, is world’s worst sick person. She can’t handle being slowed down. She takes it out on everyone. She’s suffering from a cold/cough – but she’s not the only one suffering. She’s pinched and pulled hair and hit and… My patience is wearing thin. So is that of her siblings – because it’s not me she’s pinching and hitting and pulling hair on! Oh my. Get well soon, my dear. Please.
Most of the kids caught bad colds. In usual fashion, Sterling escaped unscathed. Pierce and Stellan also didn’t get it. So basically we have a feminine, not-so-ladylike bug that’s hit all of the girls that has be wishing we owned Kleenex stock.
Tonight the kids are all spending the night with a friend. Blaine and I – and Stellan – have a date. We still haven’t figured out where to go. Such occurrences are few and far between – I can remember once, when Eden was 6 months old, and once for our tenth anniversary – three and a half years ago – that we had such the opportunity. We might just have to sit at home and marvel at the silence.
I have found Stellan’s happiest place. Hooray for hands free, no crying, and the ability to play in the yard with the kids. He saw the pediatrician this week. He was supposed to get his tongue tie clipped but doc refused. I don’t even know. But I do know he weighed 13 lbs 6 oz. He’s gained 4 lbs 4 oz in 7 weeks and made the doc double check his newborn screen results for problems that would cause him to gain so much weight so fast. He has none. I’m betting it’s all the nursing he does in my attempt to quiet him!
I decided to be all traditional for St. Patrick’s day this year. I think I possibly have a smidge of Irish heritage even. We made Reubens for supper, and I tried for green ice cream. Turns out Aldi went all healthy on me and took the green coloring out of their mint chip ice cream, but Blaine grabbed the food coloring and fixed it. I’m too tired to get too fancy with it, but we had fun anyway.
Apparently, because I had Stellan on my back, the kids all thought they should follow suit. I’m so cool.
Stella looks mighty content on your back. HA!! Like you said it gives you hands free. Whatever it takes, right?
They sure look like the were having fun. Hope you did get to go out and have a nice dinner.
Yay for a happy baby! Looks like y’all have nice spring weather going on out there. We are too and, yes, we all got the cold/cough thing as well. Ugh! Nights have been really rough around here but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. So much for working in the garden all week like I’d planned. Hope the boys stay well for ya. Have fun in the yard!
