We’re still recovering. I can’t get enough sleep. Naps and early bedtime can’t be fully enjoyed when I’m in the ranks of sleepy people. We’re surviving on leftover turkey still, the floor finally screamed loud enough to get itself mopped, but the dog got sprayed by a skunk and hasn’t made it up onto my list to try to figure out what to do about it. She’s sleeping outside. Pierce had five meltdowns today and Ruby has decided she’s not strong enough to carry a gallon of milk but 20+ pound Ellie isn’t a problem to carry. We started school again after a week off. I don’t know what I was thinking.
I think I burned one of Liberty’s gifts. I’d gotten her a sterling silver ring. I got it out to wrap it. No idea what happened after that. She didn’t open it, and we burned the wrapping paper in the wood stove. We searched the ashes but didn’t find it. Oh my word, I’m going crazy.
Pierce put on Blaine’s deodorant this morning. When questioned, he responded just as quick as can be, “Oh, I thought it was mine.” Keep a straight face on that one. I was succeeding until Liberty snorted. He didn’t even break a sweat during the rest of the day’s tantrums.
Here’s to hoping tomorrow’s a better day. I thought we’d throw a nice twist in: grocery shopping. It’s like sprinkling down Legos and pacing the room barefoot in the dark, just for fun.

Oh-my, hope y’all get to feeling better. Sick is awful! We got a double-whammy here; flu and a stomach bug getting every single one of us (except the baby) right through Christmas and here still! Ugg! We decided this was the perfect time to work on our house too. You know, Jay’s out of work so why not work on our own house. We’ve got a big gaping hole for a kitchen floor and 2 (inside) walls down. You’ve got to look at the pictures on our farm Facebook page.
Good luck shopping. Sounds fun! Take a deep breath and just try to remember that God uses these trials to shape us into who He wants us to be. Trying to remember that myself while I take care of sick kids, who have gotten way too used to being catered to and watching way too many movies, while I have a fever.
Looking forward to more posts when you’re feeling better! 🙂
