Mispronunciations.

July 11, 2014 by Adrienne

I’ve been working on teaching Pierce proper pronoun usage. Early on, a conversation went like this:

“Me want a snack.”

“No, I want a snack.”

“Me want a snack too! We match!”

Now that it’s been a few weeks, he’s understanding… in as far as what I want from him when I correct his sentences. But then he came out with “Liberty help me! No! Liberty help I!” Just when I thought we were making progress.

Pierce pronounces ‘Liberty’ as ‘Bibaberty’. I tried to get him to say it right yesterday. Apparently he’d had enough of my corrections. After the third try, he hollered “Buddy!” instead. Fair enough.

How cute!!! It does make you wonder how they process all this new stuff they are learning.

Love reading about day to day experiences. Thanks for sharing.
