Pierce

August 2, 2023 by Adrienne

A year and a day ago, Pierce had a seizure that Eden witnessed in his sleep, quickly followed by two more next to me in my bed, and a fourth in the hospital. An ambulance ride to a children’s hospital 90 miles away followed. An MRI, EEG, and many meds were next. Our move to Missouri later that same month complicated things, but we eventually got all his test results sent to a new neurologist in St Louis. Meds that became the enemy of all things peaceful in our home wreaked havoc, but a second EEG and med change in March brought his 5+ nightly seizures to an apparent end, and while the EEG scheduled for later this month will be the real test, we think new meds have calmed the seizures and leave him functioning as close to normal as currently possible.

It has been a hard year with so much frustration, fear, and disappointment in what the future holds. I do know, however, the God that created Pierce and allowed him this struggle for a good and right purpose. To God be the glory.

I love him so much.

Thank the LORD it seems they have his med regulated. Trust he will outgrow it.
