Spring cleaning, babies, and wrapping school.

We’re wrapping up school. We finish each subject on its own, as the books are complete. School days are getting shorter and there’s much joy as each new subject gets finished. We started late September/early October and are going further into spring than usual, and I’m looking forward to summer break with great anticipation. Pretty sure the kids are too!

Before I went to work a couple days ago, I have a request for the back deck to be cleared of cooking appliances. The grill and whatnot could live elsewhere, off of prime property. I wanted the bench and whatever else they felt like moving moved to the back, bigger deck. I got home the next morning to an ugly empty front deck and a power washed, clean, decorated back sitting area. My plants are back there. The kids and I sat back there this afternoon while I was drinking coffee and watching ducks. School moved back there for a bit. They went above and beyond and it’s so, so nice.

Next up: the front deck needs to look more inviting. The kids and I plan to go to town in my next day off and work to find a couple things to spruce it up. That front door is headed for paint and a screen door installation as well. I got a bunch of perennials and mulched the front flower beds. It’s been a fun project.

My kids might not completely agree with that. It’s been work. But I think they’d all agree that working together isn’t bad at all.

I got cleared from training at work. I still have training to do to do everything… weird scenario. But I’m cleared to do almost everything now. I continue to work 3-5 nights a week, 5pm-5am. It’s changed how life looks a lot. I can’t decide what I think about that.

We have baby bunnies! Our first two does had babies today, and the third looked like she was about to join their ranks this afternoon. I’ll check in a couple days to see how many we have. Elliot especially is excited. Those rabbits are her pets.
