Life took a turn for crazy and I’m still trying to figure out how to keep my head above water. I began working at the restaurant where Eden and Sterling have been working last week. I’m working 3-4 5-hour shifts each week waiting tables. I did waitress work back in high school and enjoyed it, and it’s still pretty fun. It’s getting easier – those first few shifts made me very tired and sore and challenged me to quickly learn a lot. I’ve figured out the order taking machine now and learned which of my shoes will remain comfortable all day! I rather like the job.
Between that and school and laundry, plus still working for the flight school some, I’m busier than ever and still trying to figure out how to do it all. Ruby does most of the cooking, and all of the kids have stepped up with laundry and cleaning. I’m rather amazed at how well the house has run without me there to keep things moving. I’ve worked myself out of a job!
Then… I got a dog. I’ve been looking for one for awhile. I wanted a dog in the yard to protect kids and bark and well, we need animals around here. When Eden found out I was getting one, she asked to have one of her own. So… Pepper and Monty/Montgomery have been welcomed wholeheartedly by everyone. (Except maybe Sterling, who sees his hunting ground invaded and his hunt threatened.) Getting a picture of wiggly puppy sisters is really, really hard. I’ll work on that. They’re nothing fancy – Pyrenees mostly, with 1/4 blue heeler and 1/4 boxer. Completely cute.
Blaine is still looking for work. He’s applied at many places and had one interview earlier this week. Hopefully that turns into a good job offer.
We’re doing well. Life looks very different from anything we’ve had before but it’s good.

I was actually holding my breathe while reading this. I am so thankful it was not a health issue with someone or something really bad.
I have said before I do not see how you do what you do and now…. a job. You are one tough woman for sure. It does make me tired to think of it. Haha!!
Blessings on Blaine’s job hunt.

So good to hear from you and that you are doing well. Blue healer and boxer half breed and Great Pyrenees parents. They should work out well. Neighbors next door went up to a family in southwest Mo that breeds half breeds. They bought a so called cavipoo, half cavalier king charles and half medium size poodle with parents on premises. She is about 6 months now and they just had her spayed which I suppose was part of the contract but I did not ask. Has to be petted if I am out when he is walking her by.
Looks like the single digit temps are coming just before Christmas so hopefully you are prepared. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Stay in touch.
