We’re headed to camp tonight. We’d planned to go last night, but tornadoes and flooding at the campground kept us away. They assigned us a new site and we planned to head up today.
Torrential rain happened overnight. We woke up to huge rust torn out of our driveway where water cut its path down the hill. The road was flooded entirely in front of the house. The four foot concrete culvert wasn’t enough to handle the water and the road was roaring. Part of thereafter over the culvert washed away. Once it went down, kids rode the canoe through the ditch and we hauled rocks and gravel to the driveway to be able to pull the camper down. It’s been a long day.
I’m not sure what the campground will look like when we arrive. Wet. Muddy. Our site is without power and water… the camper just got demoted to a glorified tent. But bikes are packed and food is abundant and a lake is nearby. Hoping the rest of the weekend is boring compared to how this vacation has begun. Sterling turns 12 on Saturday. That’ll be enough excitement for me.

You all really did have heavy rain. Goodness! We actually need some rain. Even though it has been a wet year up until now. Just after you get a few things planted it turns dry.
PRAY you all have a safe trip.
