I've been canning applesauce. Lots and lots and lots of applesauce. We picked five laundry baskets of apples – 170 pounds worth. I ended up with 40 quarts all together, 30 quarts canned, six broken jars because I'm either missing something or my old jars are just over it, and some in the fridge for the kids. One basket of apples remains for freezing for pies.
I'm done. Thank goodness. The garden boasts of it's potential tomato crop and threatens much more canning to come. I'm not sure I can handle it. The mess! Oh, the mess.
Pierce enjoyed his Saturday a bit more than I did. I'm told it's war paint.
Last week we spent one day at the pool. Significantly more fun than canning. A friend took photos… because I didn't think of it. It was a fun day.
We're looking at a pretty calm week, then I pick up the girls and have all my kids together again finally next Sunday, and then a trip to visit Blaine's family and a camping weekend and co-op starting and school must begin soon.
I'm tired already.
Tomorrow, we clean. Turns out, when I'm busy in the kitchen small children tear things up and no one cleans it. Imagine that. They wear lots of clothes, and no one does laundry. Shocking, for sure.
Yep. Tired already.

Canning is a BIG tiresome job. I used to do a lot but not anymore. Too old to do all that. HA!! I can’t imagine doing it with many littles. I know you will enjoy it this winter. Peaches are my favorite thing to fix. I froze most of them when I fixed them.
So it has been about a month since all your kiddos have been home together?? That is quiet a while.
Try to have a little relaxation before yo hit the books.

I have never canned before. Maybe you can just start making big meals with the tomatoes and freezing half. Big batches of sloppy joe sauce and lasagna sauce!
