I’m in South Dakota at my parents’. The kids and I drove 650 miles with one stop to get here Friday. That’s about as good a trip as we get here, since I have to get fuel once. We listened to a recorded book the whole way and the van was silent otherwise. Stellan never fussed. I had no idea how he’d do, but that was amazing.
I always forget just how much I love it here until I get back. The mosquitoes are outrageous, but the lettuce that grew bug free in the garden was amazing. Town is quiet and cars drive under the speed limit. You run into people you know everywhere. Trees grow in rows, and Sterling asked me why. The concept of having to plant trees is foreign to him. We walked the gravel road tonight and silence reigned.
Mom has dogs and Dad rented the pasture out, so there’s cows on the property. The kids are in animal heaven. There’s bikes for all, beanbag toss, and Dad made a train for the kids. I need a photo of it, because it’s pretty cool. Stellan and Pierce especially have had fun with it.
We’re here another week. I’ll get more photos. It’s beautiful.

How great you all get to be there with your parents. I know it will be a fun time for all of you. Amazing to read to drove that far and only stopped once. WOW!!!! We have to take a potty break about every 2 hours when we travel. HA!! I guess old folks have to go more often than kiddos. HA!! Thankful you had a good safe trip. ENJOY!!! Please share more pics of these fun times.
