Summer vacation is in full swing. I’m determined to do it right this year. We’ve been having a blast. I took the kids to the local fountain park, a train day the library sponsored, Bass Pro a couple times, and the park several times.
The kids must be getting used to it, because every morning they’ve been asking what we get to do today. We’ve played hard. We’ve worked hard too, but leaving our yard every day is not my norm… or my favorite.
It’s been fun. But when Blaine asked if he could have my van today to get new tires on it before my trip to South Dakota next week… yes, yes you can. I’ll stay home. I have roughly 100 zucchini headed for the canner for relish, several heads of cauliflower that need to be processed for the freezer, lawn to mow… and a nap to take. Definitely need a nap.
Stellan has surgery to open his plugged tear duct on Friday. I’m stressing about this. I’ve never had one of my kids need surgery before. I’ve never even been under anesthesia before myself. It’s freaking me out.
Tomorrow Blaine turns 40. I’m sure he’d love knowing I published that. It seems like a big deal though. Nothing major planned, but I went to the butcher and paid a huge amount of money for beef to grill and the kids have grand plans to make him pound cake for breakfast. I’m trying to talk him into staying home and taking one of his many personal days he’s accumulated but rarely takes.
Procrastination over. So much to do today.
