When you line up eight littles for photos… You just hope for the best. I just keep reminding myself that one day they will all look and smile – but they’ll be big and that’ll be sad.
I got all my flowers planted in the yard yesterday. Today it rained. ‘Tis a beautiful thing.
Today the children of the church sang ‘Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee’ for the offertory. Elliot asked to sing too. She had heard the kids practice so much, she knew all the words. I let her do it. This meant a three year old sitting at the front of the sanctuary, behind the pastor and facing the congregation, for the entire service. I did not fully comprehend this when I agreed, but she did pretty well.
At one point she pulled her dress up over her face. Score one for momma, she had shorts and a tank top under there. If I’ve learned anything as the mother of many girls, it’s to cover those panties. It’ll save you from many an embarrassment.
After they sang, Elliot climbed up on Blaine’s lap, since he too was up there to lead the service. She went to sleep. It might have been adorable. It’s a good thing our church is small! It seemed highly informal compared to normal, but no one complained. Seven of my kids were at the front and Stellan fell asleep in my arms within the first few minutes of the service. It was strange. Quiet. I heard the whole sermon!
I hope your Easter celebration was a celebration rejoicing that He is risen! There is no greater joy.

How cute that all your kiddos are standing for a picture. No littles for someone to hold now. Hard to believe.
At least you were able to hear all the service. What a good day for it too. HE is RISEN indeed.
Today was also our 50th wedding anniversary. Where have all those years gone?
