We start co-op today. I’m pretty sure it’s the day my kids look forward to most all year. They have outfits picked out, backpacks packed, and the day started bright and early. We decided to do speech and debate this year – this means we leave the house by 9:15am and get home after 5pm. Yikes.
Supper is headed into the crockpot in the hands of Eden at the moment.
Charlotte and Pierce got full size backpacks this year. All six of the older ones have JanSport backpacks now. (They have a lifetime guarantee! I’m all about supporting companies that will fix or replace whatever we can throw at them. Bubba water bottles and JanSport backpacks are a staple around here.)
Ellie will have a class to go in, without me. I have no idea how that will go. I’d say awful, horrible, and she’ll cry all day, but I’m a firm believer in my children living up to my lowest expectations, so I’ll reserve judgement and say this will be interesting. She’s never been left without siblings before.
I’m heading up third grade. I get to be with them, walk them to classes, clean up after them… and teach them nothing. No lesson plans to prepare means I might remain sane all year in spite of it’s busyness. Sterling and Ruby are both in 3rd grade at co-op. (I tell Ruby she’s in 2nd at home. She’s not believing me. Her books are all 3rd. Sterling’s doing 3rd English with her, but the rest of his books say 4th… it’s a confusing world, this you-are-this-age-but-good-at-this-so-you-move-a-grade-up-in-this-but-not-in-that homeschooling world we live in.) At any rate, they are both in my class. They are still an age that they think this is awesome.
I’ll post a backpack photo lineup of the kids once they are all ready to go. I’ve never ever taken one before… but that just sounds fun.
On with our day. Shower’s open. One shower, nine people, two hours to get it done. Go!

I’ll be thinking of you as you begin another year of co-op, and pray all goes well. Have a great day Adrienne.

That will be a long day but hope you enjoy it. Hopefully Ellie will adjust easily. Maybe she will enjoy playing with other kiddos close to her age.
Good to hear from you. My husband ask the other day if you had posted lately. He enjoys reading what you write. I said not in a while she hasn’t. He said shame on her. Hahahaha!!

I know! Time gets away from me. Stressful days leave me with nothing good to say, so I leave it alone. Sad, but true. School has me swamped, and adding co-op in I’m hoping will give things more routine and less stress… maybe a stretch. We’ll see! Tomorrow is my ultrasound and Blaine suggested a mini date after since we have a sitter for that, and then Thursday is Ruby’s birthday, so I should get on here a bit more this week.

I too wondered what happened to you! But, I understand! We’ve begun our school year and have at the same time been dealing with new piglets, long hours fencing, moving cows and Jay having to put in extra time at work. Not to mention me recovering from an early miscarriage. Oh. My. Word! Yeah, I get being too whupped to write…….but I read about your crazy life to relax from mine. lol
Hope co-op goes well for ya. Sounds like a loooong day. Post a picture when you can. My kids love seeing your kids! 🙂
