Liberty turned 12 last Friday. It’s hard to believe. It just seems so big. I remember being 12!
She asked if she could make her own cake with the Care Bear pan. Most definitely! She picked out a recipe for white cake from my mom… A cake of my childhood. She made herself cream cheese frosting, colored it, and went to town. She was disappointed it wasn’t as perfect as she’d have liked – but it tasted amazing!
And then. We were at Sam’s Club for the dress Liberty wanted for her birthday that is no longer there, and Ellie signed potty. She insisted. I marched her to the little toilet in the family bathroom and plopped her down. She’s 15 months, but if she wants to sit there, I’ll let her try it. She peed! She was so proud. She marched over to the sink wanting to wash her hands and walked out of the bathroom like she’s been doing this all her life. Oh, my word. I just don’t know. She’s since gone twice more.

Wow, 12 is pretty grown up! My oldest is fixing to turn 9. No pony, huh? 🙁
I guess it’s a good thing you have another baby on the way since Ellie doesn’t seem to want to be the baby anymore! Pretty awesome! Looks like you’ll get a break from diapers for a little while anyway. lol That’s great Liberty made her own cake. I so remember doing that! She seems like a great kid! Way to go, Momma!

No pony. 🙁 She may be able to volunteer in exchange for lessons at a local stable thus fall. They said to call back then. She got cash and a trip shopping with me. Pretty sure she was thrilled in the end.
Ellie’s quite determined she’s big. It’s fun and sad too.

Your family is certainly growing up on you! Congratulations on the new one coming.
( this is Alexandra’s sister-in-law, by the way)
I remember when I was 12, I decided that I would be getting married at 21. So I worked very hard, from then on, to learn how to cook and bake good bread. It was the main focus of my early teen years.
Twenty years later, still as single as ever… with no prospects… I’m a good cook and baker, but not a wife. What did I know ?
Good luck to you, Liberty as you increase your skills in the kitchen. Just don’t loose sight of the possibility that God’s plans might not look quite like your own do.
