Alexandra had a GIRL!!! I couldn’t be more thrilled… pretty sure she’s still just in shock. After four boys, I think she’d rather expected another one. In blog nickname fashion, this one will go by her middle name on my blog… Rachele. For the record, this proud aunt couldn’t be more excited to share my middle name with my new niece.
I’ve been talking to my sister a lot these last few days. Baby excitement will do that, I suppose. The story she told me last night had me laughing so hard I woke up Ellie. With her permission, I’m retelling it here.
Alex was about to cut her husband’s hair a while back, and he was giving her a hard time. About what, I do not know. I didn’t ask. Maybe it’s my imagination, but I’m not sure I want to know. At any rate, she warned him he’d better be nice, since the clipper was in her hand. He persisted. She quietly removed the clipper guard and proceeded to cut the top of his head… skin tight. Finishing that, she put the blade guard back on and clipped the rest at the typical length.
He was bald. Shiny bald.
While I kept waiting for her to say she ended up shaving his whole head to eliminate the shiny bald look, the story didn’t end that way. It would seem he walked around looking incredibly bald until it grew back in.
I love marriage. I love watching how other marriages work. It’s fun. It’s serious. It’s flirty. And sometimes, it’s hilarious.

I always say the same thing to my husband when I cut his hair. I can’t imagine ever actually doing it though…he’d probably fire me as his barbar. Ha.

Both Rachele are I are doing great! She seems to be quite a content baby and the boys are all absolutely in love with her. 🙂 It’s been some adjusting to seeing bows and pink on my baby!
I think Matthew seriously considered firing me from cutting his hair after that. -And he still inspects it thoroughly every time now.
Thanks for posting about Rachele for me, Sis. 😉
