I’ve wanted a full size poodle as a house dog for years. I started looking for one a good five years ago, and quickly learned I couldn’t possibly spend the money on one that they were selling for. Thousands. I half heartedly looked for one ever since, but never found one in my price range. I’d read of a few mixed breed “designer” options, and Goldendoodle was my favorite. But they weren’t priced where I could warrant the expenditure either. I didn’t think I’d ever actually get one.
And then. I messaged on one to inquire as to price, and it was, again, more than I was comfortable spending on a dog. A few days later, they messaged again and stated they’d lowered the price on the remaining puppies. I asked a few questions, and found out I knew people that knew this seller. Weird, small world. Homeschooling, large-family, runs in my same circles kind of small. I asked for either gender, most outgoing, darkest and curliest, and she presented me with Trixie.
I forgot how much fun it is to have a dog in the house. The kids are having a blast. Creed is her biggest champion. Heaven forbid I put the dog outside while I work on the floor with hemming wedding dresses. “She’s and indoor dog mom, and this is the indoors.” Little dude got himself straightened out quickly… while I tried not to laugh. He loves her. She’s made it outside for almost every potty trip. She’s chewing on everything. She is the softest, fluffiest thing and likes to sleep on my feet. She’s barely cried in the crate at night.
Meet Trixie. Born July 26, she’s now 9 weeks old. I’m still super sad about Pepper, but… once we finish teaching Trixie that shoes and toes aren’t food… she should turn out to be a great dog. She’s already so smart and fun.
Funny story… I was refereeing volleyball the first night we got her and Blaine texted me from the house. He said Creed’s words were, “I love you dog but you so tra-zy!”
In other news… Eden gets married this weekend. I have no idea what else needs to be done. I have to finish hemming dresses tonight and tomorrow. The wedding is at a campground with a cute little chapel a couple hours away. We go down with the camper on Friday. I can’t wrap my head around what even to do next. Make lists while at my desk in dispatch is my solution for today.
I’m in immense amounts of pain from the shingles with burning and itching for good measure. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor and have almost complete function of my face and eye restored.

Thank the LORD you are better with your eye and face. I feel for you with the pain from shingles. It is HORRIBLE.
Bless you with getting everything ready for the wedding.
Cute puppy. Love the pic of the puppy in the car seat.

Goldendoodles are the best. So lovable and fun. So glad you got one.

I remember from your last post that you came down with shingles but I did not know it was
on your face, That happened to my brother before the vaccine was out. I got the vaccination at the VA in February of 2010 and came down with a mild case around one side of my waist in Nov. of 2015. The vaccine either prevents it or enables a mild case so I felt lucky to have a mild case. Itching was mild and all gone within about 2 months. Good luck on it.
