Liberty’s birthday is in a few weeks. She’ll be twelve. I’m at a loss as to what to give her for her birthday. She wants a horse. Unfortunately, a horse isn’t the only part of that equation. The fencing, feed, tack… yeah. It’s past my birthday budget.
Ruby overheard a conversation with Blaine while we were discussing possibilities. She had a suggestion.
“I know what you can get her! A baby. Her own real baby. That way she won’t steal Ellie from everyone. Every time I’m holding Ellie, Liberty takes her away from me. If she had her own baby, she’d leave me alone!”
I asked her where I might find a baby for Liberty, since they don’t sell them at the store.
“They don’t?”
Nope. Definitely not.
“Uh, I think you can get them at orphanages or something.”
I think the dear girl has read too many Boxcar Children mysteries.

That is so cute. She doesn’t want to share Miss Ellie too much. Sweet!!!

That’s pretty funny. Sure, why not, another baby coming right up. That’s an easy request! lol I always tell the kids I got them off the shelf at Tractor Supply……..I guess they know that’s not true. The other day I was hanging laundry and my 4 year old said, “Mama, Daddy was in your tummy first, right, because he’s the bigest.” Oh-boy, do I have some explaining to do……wow!
So, a pony…why not. It’ll be fun! Check your local craigslist. You never know what you might find!

My kids have thought that too, then get royally confused because Blaine is older than I am. They still consistently call husbands “your dad” to wives and vice versa. Confusing stuff.
A pony… wow. The fencing isn’t going to hold a horse in, and the feed – oh my. The kids would be in heaven though.
