We had plans to get a dog from my sister, but when that dog started eating her chickens, we decided not to get her. We don’t have chickens at the moment, but we might… it’d be nice to have a chance to keep them alive if we do. So… my sister gave that dog to a lady who does not have chickens and we started looking locally for a puppy. Saturday, we found a Boxer/Border Collie/Lab (ie. mutt) that has a good chance at being, according to Blaine, a little bit of a home security system. It’ll be nice to have a dog in the yard while the kids are playing and when Blaine travels. You know, one bigger than all 8 1/2 pounds of Brady that are oh so intimidating, to be sure. Puppy’s 8 weeks and as big as Brady already and eating four times as much as her already.
I named her Maisie. (I went to my” names I love that Blaine will never let me name a baby” list. It suits her.)
She’s decided Ellie’s basket of toys under the coffee table is her home. And she snores. She also shreds paper, pounces at everything, and wants to play – all the time. (Until she is exhausted and needs a nap in a basket full or less than cushy baby toys.)
She was to be strictly an outdoor dog. You can see how tough we are being about enforcing that one.

It was so supposed to say, ‘I’m glad you named her that’ no ‘In glad your named her that.’ ;(

I gathered that and am so glad you love her and her name – but aren’t you supposed to be sleeping?

So cute! Puppies are so much fun-except for all the boots they chew! We have two new puppies right now. It’s so great for kids and yes, when the man is away from home, it’s nice to have a dog or two!

The puppy is cute, but I am just jealous that you have flowers blooming. It’s still pretty chilly here.
